I hope not... last time we got separated, we were pretty far apart and it took a while to get back together.

There's four more of us too... They might stand out too, I don't think they're dressed that much like anyone here... [as he's realizing that nobody is dressed quite the same, though reala and loni probably could blend in well enough, but they're all still carrying weapons.]

Let's see how many we can find before it starts getting dark. It's still not a good idea to stay out on the streets at night. [ Even without a risk of demons running rampant. ]

Mm! That sounds good...

[he sure is going to take a moment to look up into the sky to see how much sunlight they have left...

probably not the wisest move, but it's fine.]

They'll be able to find an inn nearby or something if we can't find them though, right? [or somewhere good to rest?]

Yes. There are a few shelters around the area, too, and we can check if they haven't gone to any of the nearby hotels.

[ Just in case. Losing anyone is a frightening experience, let alone all of your friends. ]

Right. I hope they're all okay—they're all pretty tough, but if they got separated like I did, I don't know if they'll find someone as nice as you are to help.

[they haven't even introduced themselves, and yet she's so willing to help. what a nice lady!]

You'd be surprised! Osaka is full of very spirited, caring people.

[ ... maybe not Keita, but Hinako would definitely drop everything to help and lay the smackdown on anyone who didn't. ]

[ What a... foreign-sounding name, though. ]

[more foreign than she can even know, truly. either way, he seems to be keeping a pretty bright attitude despite the fact that he's clearly concerned about a lot of things. where is friends are, where and when he is...

I wonder how far away they are, and if they're all still together... [is he the only one who got separated from the group? he's just pondering out loud, because he's not really sure what else to say—he's kind of lost here. even with the bright attitude.]

When was the last time you saw them? Has it been some time?

[ Also how did someone lose an entire group of people and himself? Had something distracted him and he'd wandered off? ]

No... it's only been a few minutes. Maybe 10 before you started talking to me?

[he scratches his head thoughtfully, ruffling his hair a bit. it's kind of a complicated situation that he's not sure he can even explain—he's not supposed to just go telling people he's from another time, after all.]

Ten minutes? That's not long at all... they can't have gone too far.

[ Otome would probably be one of the few to believe in time traveling, anyway, given what she's lived through (and probably what she hadn't). ]

Well... Maybe. But one time that happened and we ended up pretty far away from each other, eheheh...

[he lets out a bit of a sheepish chuckle—he's not really even sure how he'd explain that they were once split up and a whole continent away from each other.]

[mombastic]

[ ... Why does she have this inexplicable urge to ruffle his hair... ]

Mm... all right. Let's start by checking out the nearest hotel for now, then.

[ COME, SMALL FOREIGN CHILD. ]

Mm! Let's go then, Miss Yanagiya, lead the way!

You can just call me Otome! You'll make me feel old!

[ with a laugh; she clearly doesn't mind. ]

Oh... well, if you're sure... then, Otome!

[he grins brightly at her, very much so the spitting image of his dad, whether or not he realizes it.]

I don't want you to feel old—you're definitely not old at all!

[mombastic]

[ There's a pause, as though she's trying to remember something important-- before she laughs. ]

That's very sweet of you, Kyle!

[he thinks she's probably just trying to find the hotel, or whatever.]

Sweet? Ah... I was just telling the truth. You're nowhere near as old as my mom or anything!

[kyle pls, your mom is only 36.]

[mombastic]

For the sake of your mother, I'll pretend I didn't hear that.

I don't really see the big deal...

[even though rutee would definitely smack him upside the head if she heard him say she was old.]

No woman ever really wants to be called old.

Well, it's not like I just go "HEY MOM, YOU'RE REALLY OLD," or something like that...

No, even as a passing comment... you have to be careful.

Huh... okay. I'll try to remember that, then! [somehow, it's more impactful when she says it than when loni does.

though maybe that's because loni was the one always trying to drill it in, all the while talking about her like she was someone worth dating. which... for kyle, clearly had the opposite effect of drilling in how Not Good that way.

Loni always says stuff like that, but he also tries to date every woman he meets. He even talks about Mom and her friends like that. "Oh, Miss Philia is such a beauty! Miss Mary was a vision when she came to visit!" It's kind of hard to take him seriously...
