GENKI SILENT PROTAG. She'll probably strong-arm you into doing something ridiculous, and do so with the cutest smile on earth. She might also poke you with a naginata if you're a punk.
THE SASSY PROTAG. a phantom thief with a heart of gold. lives rebelliously and without regrets, though spends most of his time feigning a very unassuming persona. #nailedit
A true sunshine protagonist. Country bumpkin, slow on the uptake. Wants to be everyone's friend. Swordian Master of fire, incredibly hot-blooded. A GOOD BEAN. Please love him. He's my favorite and I am biased.
The original fabulous Tales science lady. Probably wants to dissect you pretty shamelessly. Loves and adores cute things. Inventor of the Swordians. Definitely the definition of Mad Scientist.
[For the most part, that works. The chocobo reacts to the whistle, looking up at Noct for a moment while tugging on Taichi's hair before there's a wark! of excitement and it lets go, running toward Noct for the promised greens.
Taichi's never exactly been good with animals that don't talk back, so none of this surprises him. Instead though he watches Noct handle the bird and there may be a flash of orange out of the corner of Noct's eye as something darts behind Taichi, but Taichi doesn't bring it to mind. Instead, he gestures to the chocobo.]
Are they always so friendly? [It's not hard to tell there's a huge amount of sarcasm here, especially seeing how he's trying to flatten his hair down.]
[noctis definitely catches the unfamiliar sight, but considering he's able to see his fair share of strange things...
you know. like carbuncle, or his ability to communicate with astrals—
well, it's just not something he's too focused on for the time being. one thing at a time.]
They could be friendlier. Could've went nipping at your flesh or something. [maybe taichi's just lucky that chocobos are generally peaceful and also herbivores.]
Might be a sign you gotta condition better. [he can play the sarcasm game too, though it's definitely in jest.]
My hair's fine. [There's almost a whine to his tone, but he's definitely watching the chocobo from a distance and carefully trying to figure out if it would eat his flesh. Other Digimon wouldn't but that sure wouldn't stop them from trying to kill him. Multiple times.]
So what are these things anyway? And how do you know how to tame them?
[well, okay. that seems fake, someone not knowing what a chocobo is, but he'll play along. even if it seems suspicious.]
What, never seen a chocobo before? [still sounds fake, but ok.] They're raised on a farm. Don't really know much exactly how they get tamed. Probably like any other animal, I guess.
You guys have farms that raise giant chickens? [Why this is more suspicious than digital monsters and a whole other plane of existence we just don't know.] Pretty sure we don't have those where I'm from.
[As far as Taichi knows, this is just another portal that kicked him out of the Digital World, but this isn't his home. Agumon, thankfully, had followed but now they've been spending time wandering trying to figure out a way back. That was going well until the chocobo attacked.] This might sound pretty strange but...where are we?
[He's paying more attention to Noctis than his Digimon partner currently who's getting up and starting to wander away behind him. Taichi, meanwhile, rolls his eyes at the correction even before Noctis fills in an answer.]
That's great, but where is that? I've never heard of Taelpar either.

[get it right? they're better than chickens, pls.
but really, all noct does after that is arch a brow. well, he supposes it's easy enough to get lost in the area if you don't know where you're going.]
Huh. Probably about a half-mile from the Taelpar Rest Area? [that's probably not helpful, but what does he know?]

[that, he figures should be enough.
(he's wrong, but what does noctis know? he figures everyone knows where duscae is if they're in lucis.)]
