voice test ☀ joker

the hierophant; cafe leblanc
but of course, some things don't always go as planned.
like the rare occasion where someone comes into the cafe leblanc for some coffee or curry (or perhaps both; they complement each other well here, after all) and the proprietor is nowhere to be seen. like this moment, for instance, when a certain scruffy-haired teen comes down the back stairs, bag slung over his shoulder (is that a cat popping its head out?), and he just pauses.]
Huh?
[he questions quietly, wondering why the place is unattended—he can only guess it was meant to be brief, and with the assumption that nobody would show up. whoops?
either way, it looks like akira is walking himself behind the counter, placing down the bag and picking up an apron like a semi-pro. unless you're one of the phantom thieves, in which case he's not helping your ass unless you ask, like a true pal.]
Can I help you?
[see? totally a pro!]
the magician; mementos
until there's a rustling sound. one corner. the next. then behind a pole.
...do you feel like you're being watched?
...or maybe like someone is about to ambush you?
well, it doesn't matter, because as soon as joker has discerned that this isn't an aggressive shadow, but someone else, he'll somersault out from where he's hiding, gun in hand. to those who know him, he may seem familiar, even recognizable entirely. to anyone else, this masked trickster is joker of the phantom thieves. his smirk skirts on the dangerous side, knowing he's got someone cornered—though he doesn't seem particularly aggressive before asking the most important questions:]
Who are you? ["and why are you here?" he doesn't lower his gun completely though, instead twirling it in his hand.
show off.]
the chariot; texts
...well, he probably does! except that he fell asleep, so being woken up to a text that says "do you have a second?" or some variation of it is going to be met with a response.]
1.
[and then, immediately after that, a second text:]
Time's up.
[nobody said it would be a helpful response. please though, continue.]
the fool; wildcard
:D also GENTLY SPOILER WARNS for my stalking pals bc i don't trust these two
but when it's akechi, he can't help that extra twinge of sass, and he's got every reason for it.]
I'm already awake now. What is it?
I DONT TRUST THEM OR MYSELF good call
You mentioned something about a weapon store?
we got everyone's backs it's fine
[since he's sure that's A Concern.]
no subject
But thanks for that helpful note. I'll keep that in mind if slips onto my radar.
I was actually writing to you to see if you would be interested in going tomorrow.
[ it's called texting, akechi first off, and secondly, what is your shiny gold gun no longer cool? ]
no subject
[why is he like this? why are either of them like this?]
I usually just handle it myself, but we can go if it's a big deal to you.
[morgana's totally looking at the phone and giving it the stink-eye while akira is just mildly exasperated but willing to comply just to see what this is all about.]
no subject
[ are you fifty? ]
But nonetheless! I'd enjoy the chance to accompany you.
After all, I can't have our fearsome Leader always footing the bill.
[ that's the nicest thing he's ever said??????? ]
no subject
It's not totally out of my pocket.
[he just mostly uses their metaverse earnings because everyone trusts him. he's not fearsome, he's cool and charming? let him live, akechi.]
But I won't complain. You do okay with all those TV appearances, right?
no subject
[ you can live for a few more weeks, akira. a few more weeks. ]
I'll clear my busy schedule. Meet me at Shibuya Station at noon.
no subject
So generous. I'll be there. I'll make sure you don't break the bank, either. [15 minutes early with superior coffee to starbucks.
nailed it.]
no subject
[ he'll arrive sharply at noon, dressed in his usual trench coat and flashy tie. ]
I hope I didn't keep you waiting.
no subject
he's a true purse owner.
either way, he doesn't seem too fussed about it. he showed up early intentionally because he wanted to be ready for dealing with akechi, so he just shrugs.]
Thirty more seconds and I would have left without you. [...akechi's perfectly on time, so there's obviously nothing really wrong with this. he just can't help himself.]
no subject
[ is he ever serious when he says that? probably not. dealing with akira has been frustrating. dealing with this idiot who acts impulsively, thinks everything he does is the right thing, has people whispering all their dirty secrets in his ear ... it's irksome.
he still looks so pleasant ]
Does this place sell replicas of current models, or does it also carry antiques?
[ why does that matter -- ]
no subject
and his own plans.
sometimes it's hard, in excess, to play along with his biting remarks being nothing but playful ribbing like he does with the other. but he's a damn good actor in his way, which is why he does it while pretending that he's completely oblivious to akechi's intentions.]
The owner is an enthusiast, so there are all kinds of things. [it's not like akira's really much of an expert, though. he's better at ryuji than these things, but he doesn't pay much attention to the specifics of the makes beyond shopping for people's weapon preferences and what will be strong enough.]
