Mm, of course! They're all really friendly, they'll like the attention a lot.

If only our sheep demons were like that...

[ They'd been a lot more fussy. But she's properly excited now for actual sheep petting-- after meeting the family, of course. ]

Well... I guess that's why they're demons and not regular sheep, right?

[just sayin'. he thinks that probably makes sense. but alas, what does stahn know about sheep demons?]

Some of the snake and cat demons do act more like their animal counterparts, so it's hard to say sometimes. But all the same, I'll be happy to meet your entire family, sheep included.

[majinken]

Huh...

[even after all this time, he obviously doesn't really get some of this demon stuff. so maybe it's better that she's shifted the focus to what's more important.]

Come on! Let's go inside... I'll introduce you to Gramps and Lilith, and then we can go see the sheep and talk some more. [because he does think they have a lot to catch up on, of course.]

[ Really, she'll follow. Maybe a little nervously, for all that she doesn't show it at all. This is Stahn's family, after all. ]

[the encounter will go pretty smoothly, at least. there are parts that are difficult to explain, and while lilith is "jiiing" quite a bit for the duration of these introductions (if only because she sizes up every woman stahn meets to see if they're proper wife material—but upon seeing that her big brother clearly isn't treating her like that...

(okay, not that stahn really has treated anyone but rutee any differently, but she can see something more familial in it—which maybe makes her slightly envious, but she won't hassle otome about it for now. truthfully, stahn doesn't even notice her attitude.)

either way, it goes smoothly enough that they'll be able to go out to the pasture and talk some more soon enough.]

That was kind of tough to explain... but I guess it worked out okay in the end.

[ Otome manages to look both tired and relieved, taking a few calming breaths before she laughs. ]

I don't think I've ever been so nervous, beyond breaking news to patients!

[ And this had turned out a lot better than those moments ever had. Even if Lilith had seemed to regard her... just a little warily. ]

Eh? Was it really that bad? Gramps and Lilith are pretty nice to everyone, though...

[he didn't think there was much to be nervous about. except for trying to explain the hard parts of the situation, but even that wasn't something worth being nervous. stahn was there to vouch for things, and it's not like they have any reason to believe he'd ever lie to them.]

Not bad, just... well, I've learned you won't get far anywhere if someone's family doesn't like you very much.

[ AKA it's incredibly important. ]

Well... I don't think that's a problem here at all, so you don't have to worry about that! I think you'd have to be a pretty bad person for either of them not to like you.

[which otome definitely is not.]

Then it's a good thing I'd have to try very hard to be pretty bad.

[ Very.... very hard. ]

I kind of feel like even if you tried, you couldn't be a bad person, Otome...

I really did come close to being the villain, you know.

[ For the record. ]

[like stahn is really going to accept that anyway.]

But you didn't, right?

... No, I didn't.

[ Well, she didn't think he would. ]

At any rate, your family's very wonderful and I'm happy for the chance to finally meet them.

[that's what really matters anyway. she didn't. she's a good, wonderful, and caring person, even if there are things her life that happened that were less than desirable.

in any case...]

I'm really glad you could meet them too! I wish you could meet the others, but they're all pretty far away now.

[she can meet the sheep now too, at least.]

The others-- ah, your friends, you mean?

[ the ones she's probably heard a lot about by now? ]

Mm! I haven't seen them in a while, since they all live so far away from here.

[his other precious friends! naturally, he wants them all to meet.]

I see... well, when you have the time, I wouldn't mind joining you if you ever felt like taking a trip to see them all.

[ It's nice to put faces to names and stories, even though she'd at least seen Lilith before in his memories. ]

Yeah... it'll be tough, since everyone is so spread out. But... I'd really like you to be able to meet them.

[they're precious to him, and otome has heard enough about them that it's only fair she gets to meet those people while she can—if she's around in this world long enough to do so, at least.]

[mombastic]

I'd like that, too. I don't think my world will mind too much if I take a small vacation.

[ Probably because with all that had happened, she'd put in way too much overtime, but that hadn't counted at all.

She, of course, still needs to figure out how she got here and how to return, since that is her home, but she's trying not to dwell on it too much right now. ]

I know... I know it won't be forever, but while you're here... there are a few things I want you to be able to see.

[some of which include meeting his friends and just seeing places that she'd heard about. places like darilsheid and what remains of hugo's manor...

and where they'd fashioned a small memorial for their fallen friends—some of whom otome did know personally.]

[ That, she especially wants to see. She's got a personal investment there, but she nods now, smiling quietly. ]
