[And then he'll proceed to sit huffily on his towel under his big beach umbrella for the next hour, because of course he isn't going anywhere.]

[it's a really close call, honestly.

but stahn does manage to get there—at about 54 minutes. he's got towels, he's got a beach ball... he's got onigiri and bottled tea—he's ready.

...he's also incredibly out of breath and takes it upon himself to just kind of collapse into the sand next to kashuu's towel while he tries to remember how to breathe.]

[A CLOSE SHAVE. It's a miracle Stahn managed to grab all of that and get ready and get here within the hour, though...

Kashuu peers down at him from over the top of his sunglasses, maybe feeling a liiittle bit bad that Stahn ran all this way, apparently. But only a little!!]

Yeah, just barely. [...] But you still made it in time, so I guess that's fine.

[it's fine... stahn will just lay there in the hot sand and try to catch his breath. and probably also get entirely too much sand in his mullet like this. which is also definitely a mistake, but he was in such a rush that he didn't think to bring anything to tie his hair back with.

[He'll move to open the bag up though and take a peek inside... And while doing that, he'll nod over toward a fresh bowl of shaved ice that he totally didn't get for Stahn.]

It's got some nice tropical fruit flavors, so I figured it might be something you'd like. ...Y'know, since it'd be a waste to just throw it away.

Mm, it's really great! It feels really refreshing on a day like this!

[which really does make it perfect for the beach. which is good, because it's making stahn grin ear-to-ear with his worries all but forgotten. he really is so simple sometimes, it's incredible.]

Right? Oh - and y'know what else I heard is good? Frozen fruit. It sounds weird but apparently it's a big thing out here... Like, frozen grapes or peaches or whatever.

But any lingering scrap of Whiny Baby Kashuu is gone now, mostly because he's excited to explain something that he actually knows. It's very rare for him to learn about things that humans don't already know about, okay! This is clearly a big occasion.]

Yeah! Some people put frozen grapes in their drinks instead of ice cubes. Kinda neat, right? I guess they might hurt your teeth if you freeze 'em for too long, though. I dunno, I've never tried it before... But we totally should!

That's pretty amazing! I've been in some hot places too... but I mostly just wanted to go to sleep when I was in it for too long...

[the deserts of calvalese are a brutal place and stahn is not good in extreme weather at all.]

Seriously? I guess really hot weather is just as bad as cold weather when it comes to making people just wanna sleep... But you're totally missing out on all of the good foods if you do that! It's better to just stick your feet in a bucket of cold water to wake yourself up.

It was kind of hard to find cold water in the desert, though....

["seasons" are kind of a loose thing in his world, okay. it's a jrpg world, so there's A Desert Country and A Snowy Country and Not!Japan and Not!Europe. and then there's stahn's home country, which is mostly farmland and fairly warm, temperate weather.

extremes are hard for him.]

But I definitely don't want to miss out on any of the food, either! [the struggle is so very real.]
